IPL 2024 CSK Latest News: The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League will commence from March 22 with a high-octane showdown between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Even as fans gear up for the brilliance of CSK skipper MS Dhoni, the constant buzz around ‘will it be Dhoni’s last IPL’, has gained traction over the time.

Shedding light on the key issue, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan recently said that while the ‘succession plan’ is being discussed within the team, for now, nothing much can be said about it explicitly. In a YouTube interview with S Badrinath, Viswanathan said that Chennai Super Kings owner N Srinivasan has made it amply clear that the decision should be left to the coach and captain. The decision-making autonomy of coach and captain should remain, Viswanathan said in the interview according to the reports published in www.financialexpress.com .

The team will be given direction by our decision-makers, till then ‘we should keep quiet,’ Viswanathan reportedly said during the interview. Dhoni has captained CSK and led the team for record-making five wins. The only other team to have similar record are Mumbai Indians. After winning the IPL 2023 trophy, Dhoni rejected the retirement rumours and had said that as a ‘thank you’ to his fans, he will play another season of IPL.

IPL 2024 Schedule:
