Ravi Shastri Gets First Dose Of COVID-19 Vaccine

New Delhi, March 02, 2021: Ravi Shastri, the head coach of India’s men’s cricket team, received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. “Got the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Thank you to the amazing medical professionals & scientists for empowering India against the pandemic,” Shastri tweeted along with a photo of him getting the vaccination shot. “Extremely impressed with the professionalism shown by Kantaben & her team at Apollo, Ahmedabad in dealing with COVID-19 vaccination,” the former India all-rounder added.

The public rolllout of the coronavirus vaccines began on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the nationwide Covid-19 inoculation drive by getting vaccinated himself at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi on Monday.

Over 29 lakh people had registered – online or via the Aarogya Setu app – by 8.30 pm on Monday, the first day of the public rollout of the coronavirus vaccines, according to Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan.

“I had checked the data before speaking with you… till 8.30 pm over 29 lakh people have registered on the platform. And, you see, if one person registers, s/he has the facility of registering for four family members,” Dr Vardhan told NDTV on Monday.

Ravi Shastri is currently in Ahmedabad with the Indian team as they prepare to take on England in the fourth and final Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The third Test was also held at the same venue, with India beating the visitors in the Day-Night match inside two days according to the reports published in sports.ndtv.com.

Ahmedabad will also host the entire five-match T20 International series between the two teams.
