New Delhi, March 13, 2024: Will this be the last IPL season for Mahendra Singh Dhoni? Is Chennai Super Kings looking for a leadership rejig in post-Dhoni world? Speculations are rife after ex-CSK batsman Ambati Rayudu spoke about how he would like MI’s star and ex-skipper Rohit Sharma to don the yellow jersey.

In an interview to News 24, Rayudu said that the Mumbai Indians rushed in as far as appointing Hardik Pandya as captain for IPL 17. Rayudu, who has also played for Mumbai Indians, feel Sharma should join CSK. He went on to add that in a post-Dhoni scenario, Sharma is very much capable of leading the ‘men in yellow.’

Rohit Sharma’s IPL journey so far

Rohit Sharma commenced his IPL journey with the now-defunct Deccan Chargers before transitioning to the Mumbai Indians in 2011. Taking over as captain in 2013 from Ricky Ponting, he spearheaded a remarkable transformation, turning the Mumbai Indians from underachievers into IPL juggernauts according to the reports published in www.financialexpress.com.
