New Delhi, September 30, 2021: Indian football team’s goalkeeper Amrinder Singh has urged media persons and journalists to stop tagging him instead of the former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Twitter.

Ex-Punjab CM took note of the India goalkeeper’s request and retweeted his tweet while wishing him good luck for his game. “I empathise with you, my young friend. Good luck for your games ahead,” Ex-Punjab CM tweeted.

Notably, ex-Punjab CM Capt. Amarinder Singh’s active role in Punjab politics and his resignation have grabbed headlines in the news circle and social media. It seems that the current political drama in Punjab has been troubling a person who is not even remotely associated with politics according to the reports published in indiatoday.in.

Goalkeeper Amrinder pointed out that there has been confusion on Twitter and people have been tagging him instead of the ex-Punjab CM in political posts amid the Punjab crisis.

The possible reason for the goof-up could be the spelling of the names. Goalkeeper Amrinder’s Twitter handle reads @Amrinder_1 while ex-Punjab CM’s handle goes by the name ‘@capt_amarinder”
