India’s Saurav Ghosal has entered the squash men’s singles final. In men’s hockey, India have defeated South Korea to enter the final at Asian Games 2023. They are one win away from the gold medal and a spot in 2024 Paris Olympics. Ahead of the Asian Games 2023, India set a 100-medal target and it seems a real possibility now. They are currently on 73 medals, their best-ever show at the Asian Games. Since the start of the Asian Games in 1951, India have never been able to get past the 70-medal mark. On Wednesday, archers Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Deotale won India’s 16th gold medal. Lovlina Borgohain signed off with a silver in boxing. Abhay Singh/Anahat Singh (mixed team squash), Ram Baboo/Manu Rani (35km race walk mixed team) and Parveen Hooda (boxing women’s 57kg) won bronze medals. World Champion Neeraj Chopra will be defending his men’s javelin throw gold medal and Lovlina Borgohain will compete in the women’s 75kg boxing category final against China’s Li Qian on Wednesday.
