New Delhi, November 12, 2024: The Indian women’s hockey team managed to beat South Korea in their second match of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 at the Rajgir hockey stadium in Bihar today.
The Women in Blue managed to get a late 3-2 win as Deepika’s brace paired up with Sangita Kumari’s goal saw the hosts register back-to-back wins in the tournament.
Taking a 2-0 lead in the beginning, India were expected to cruise to the victory on the day. However, a lapse in concentration in the 3rd quarter by India saw the Koreans score twice in 2 minutes and equalise against the run of play.
India didn’t lose however, and continue their aggressive approach which eventually led them to a penalty stroke with less than 3 minutes left to play. Deepika slotted the stroke calmly into the left bottom corner to get her side all the 3 points on the night according to the reports published in business-standard.com.
